About Me

I am a mental health clinician with over ten years of experience providing compassionate, culturally responsive therapy to individuals and families across diverse settings. I work with adults and couples and have particular experience supporting clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and complex stressors. My goal is to help clients feel supported, empowered, and better equipped to move through life’s challenges with clarity and resilience.

I am fluent in English, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, and Spanish, and conversational in French. My clinical work has included both telehealth and in-person care, and I have spent much of my career working with underserved and historically marginalized communities. My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and practical, drawing from Motivational Interviewing, TF-CBT, DBT and other evidence-based interventions to meet each client’s unique needs.

Education & Training

I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and completed advanced graduate studies (C.A.G.S.) in Mental Health Counseling at Cambridge College. I have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Couples Therapy through Boston University. My professional background includes providing mental health services within public defense, juvenile advocacy, and child and family legal settings.

My Approach

I believe that healing happens within a safe, trusting, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. I focus on helping clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their own sense of agency. My work is trauma-informed and grounded in evidence-based practice, with an emphasis on collaboration, emotional safety, and honoring each client’s lived experience and cultural context.

Specialties

I specialize in trauma-informed care, anxiety, depression, crisis intervention, and behavioral change. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals and couples navigating high-stress environments, life transitions, and systems-related challenges, as well as clients seeking culturally responsive and multilingual care.

Personal Interests

Beyond my professional role, I value a well-rounded and intentional life. I enjoy activities that promote reflection, balance, and personal fulfillment, including spending time with family and friends, engaging in meaningful conversations, and staying connected to my community. I appreciate environments that encourage calm, structure, and purpose, and I am intentional about creating space for rest and renewal in my daily life.

I also enjoy learning in broader, non-clinical ways—exploring different cultures, languages, and perspectives, as well as staying curious about the world around me. These interests help me maintain perspective, resilience, and openness, and they support a grounded, thoughtful presence both personally and professionally.
