Psychotherapist, LCSW

About Me
I am a licensed social worker with a background in clinical mental health and extensive experience in the human services field. Humans are not meant to work through life's challenges on their own. My goal is to work with folks collaboratively through life transitions and struggles in relationships and careers towards greater peace, self acceptance, and alignment with one's own goals. I have experience working primarily with anxiety and depression, ADHD, Autism, OCD, and disordered eating/ eating disorders.
Additionally, my background in immigration advocacy increased my understanding of the unique challenges faced by immigrants and first-generation Americans. My approach to therapy is collaborative and relational, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, client-centered approaches, and the Health at Every Size framework to help my clients reach their goals.
Education & Training
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Salem State University. Before that, I studied Anthropology and Global Studies at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. I have experience working directly with immigrants on legal paperwork, working in therapeutic group settings with children and adults, as well as experience with In-Home Family Therapy and outpatient psychotherapy with children, teens, and adults.
My Approach
I believe that strong therapeutic relationships have the ability to heal and transform lives. I focus on experiences in the here and now to build a sense of safety and deepen one’s ability to “sit with” difficult feelings, which ultimately gives my clients the courage to “change their sails.” My work is also deeply rooted in theories of social justice. I seek to collaboratively unravel legacies of pain inherited by my clients and connect current suffering to historical and present contexts.
Specialties
I specialize in depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I am passionate about supporting those who feel stuck, unsure of who they are, a little bit “different,” or are navigating life transitions.
Personal Interests
When I’m not working, I enjoy playing soccer, roller skating, swimming, and pole dancing. Recently, I’ve been teaching myself to embroider, mend, and sew to develop my creativity and be more sustainable. Lastly, I am an avid reader of sci-fi and fantasy. (Yes, I’ve read Octavia Butler’s entire discography.) I live on the North Shore with my mother, husband, and two dogs.
